  • How do I apply for an excavation permit?
  • Complete and sign the permit application stating the purpose of the excavation. The Public Works Director reviews and approves all permits. Excavations shall be bored and pot holed. Any request for an "open cut" should be made in writing stating the reason why the area cannot be bored. Permits are to be obtained prior to excavation.

  • What are the requirements to obtain an excavation permit?
  • Any person performing work of any kind in a public right-of-way within the City must obtain an excavation permit. The city right-of-way consists of the entire road, parkstrip and sidewalk area.

    Applicant shall furnish the City with a certificate of insurance and an acceptable corporate surety bond in the amount of $10,000. The Permittee shall, at its own expense, restore the surface of any Public Way to its original condition. Restorations shall conform to Engineering Regulations, Design standards and Specifications promulgated by the City.

  • How much does an excavation permit cost?
  • $35.00 per 100 linear feet of excavation, or $35.00 minimum fee. Fees are to be paid when the permit is approved. Upon approval, fees may be billed at the end of the month.
