· Does Centerville City provide a list for Eagle Scout projects?
No. Scouts are encouraged to be creative and develop a project that would be beneficial or useful in the community. We would be happy to meet with them to discuss ideas, to help provide direction, assistance, or determine the feasibility of their project. · What happened about the possible recycling program? We are interested but were unable to participate in requested response in showing our interest very timely.
The issue is not yet decided. The recycler needed to have some comfort that approximately 400 households would participate in the program. We are still taking information from those who may be interested. However, to date, we have only approximately 200. Back to top

· I have considered building a small garage in my backyard. I already have a cement driveway all way into the backyard. The garage would basically be at the back corner of my lot. Are there restrictions as to how close a structure can be to the property line. If so, would these restrictions also apply to a shed or other type of storage building.
In rear yard areas, all accessory buildings must be setback a minimum of three feet from any property line, six feet from any other structure, must not be higher than 25 feet, and must not occupy more than 20% of the total rear yard area. Contact Community development 292-8232. Back to top

We continue to get a count of potential interested households. We still have a long way to go. Wasatch Integrated Waste is considering placing community bins at no cost to the City or Residents. Back to top

Centerville is a member of the South Davis Metro Fire Agency. This agency provides services to Bountiful, West Bountiful, North Salt Lake, Woods Cross, and some of Davis County. The City pays annual amount to the Agency for services from general tax revenues. Back to top

· I have several paint cans with paint still in them. Can I put them out for garbage pickup or do I need to take them to a hazardous materials drop-off?
Paint is considered a hazardous material and cannot be place in your container for general disposal. The landfill in Layton has a drop off area for these materails. Back to top

The general sales tax is 6.5% except for unprepared food. For the definition of unprepared food it is best to contact the Utah State Tax Commission.

· Could I get the details regarding the 2007 Spring Clean up?
The Green Waste cleanup will begin on April 9th. The cleanup this year will be at no charge but is for clean green waste only. This means no bags or boxes or debris. A flyer will be sent to all residents the last week of March. Back to top

· Is there a restriction on fence height or materials in Zone R-L? Is there a fence setback minimum from the front edge of the property?
There are no restrictions for construction materials, unless specifically required when a subdivision was approved. Fences may be located on property lines and cannot exceed six feet in height in the rear and side yards. Front yard cannot exceed four feet.
