2011 Celebration
Friday, July 1st
6:30pm Children’s Parade: The parade begins in the church parking lot at 160 South 200 East, travels along 200 East to 100 North, turns west to 100 East and continues on to Founders Park. All children are invited to participate and will receive a treat at parade’s end. Dress up and decorate your bikes, strollers, and wagons. No registration is required. Please avoid parking along the parade route.
7:30-9:45pm Free Concert in the Park! The Joe Muscolino Band returns again for an entertaining and fantastic good time in the park. Leading off with a command performance will be Mike Hamilton the Magician. Be sure to come early and bring the family! Booths in the park will be open. To reserve a booth and/or register as a vendor, contact Dale Anderson at 801-721-9009. (Note: Vendors must be registered.)
9:45pm Fireworks in the Park: Watch the spectacular fireworks while you listen to accompanying music!
Saturday, July 2nd
7:00-9:00am Breakfast at Founders Park: Enjoy breakfast and mingle with friends. Adults(13 & Older):$5.00, 3-12 Yrs Old: $2.50, Children Under 3 are free. Family Price (up to 8 people living at home): $20.00. Cash or check only.
7:00am 32nd Annual Freedom Run 5K, MAP & Children’s Run: Sponsored by the Rotary Club, the races start behind City Hall, at 250 North 100 East. The 5K begins at 7:00 a.m. Children's races start at 7:45 a.m.--ages 10-12 run 1 mile; ages 7-9 run 1/2 mile; ages 6 and under run 1/4 mile. Refreshments and prize drawings will add to the fun. See link above for race forms and fees. Pre-register at the City Hall or with Dale Anderson at 801-721-9009. Centerville/Farmington Rotary still have race shirts available for purchase for $10. 9:00am Parade on Main Street: Make sure you’re there as jets fly overhead and floats, bands, and clowns travel down Main Street! The parade begins at Chase Lane and ends at Pages Lane. Remember, no saving places along the parade route before 4:00pm and please, no water spraying during the parade. Beginning this year, parade entrants are being asked to provide safety walkers alongside of parade entries to distribute candy. Parents, for the safety of the parade participants and spectators, please keep your children from running into the road. No amount of candy is worth an injury. 10:30am-3:00pm Outdoor Festival and Fabulous Entertainment: Entertainment under the pavillion is scheduled from 10:30am to 1:00pm. Booths will be open for purchase of food, treats and games. Contact Dale Anderson at 801-721-9009 for booth information.
10:30am-3:00pm The Art and Quilt Exhibit: Come to the new Davis Center for the Peforming Arts (DCPA) at 525 North 400 West and enjoy the talents of local artists! The display will be open for viewing in the lobby of the DCPA June 20th~July 1st. Viewing times are 300 to 5:30pm Monday-Friday and 10:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday, June 25. Entries will be displayed at Centerville Elementary School on July 2nd from 10:30am-3:00pm. The awards ceremony will begin July 2nd at 3:00pm at Centerville Elementary.
1:00pm Police Auction Support our Police Department! Contact Gary Litster at 801-202-8441 for information. The auction will be held at the pavillin in Founders Park.
SUNDAY, JULY 3rd
7:00pm Special Sunday Evening Patriotic Program: Governor Gary Herbert will keynote this event at the Davis Center for the Performing Arts along with performances from “Civil War” and amazing music by Utah Voices! Best dress! Free tickets are available at the DCPA's box office beginning June 20. (Note: The Main Theater tickets are all distributed and they are now handing out Black Box tickets). Overflow seating will be available in the Black Box Theater (video feed). Tickets are limited to 8 tickets per person. Guests in the main theatre must be seated by 6:45pm after which open main theatre seats will be offered to guests having overflow tickets in the Black Box Theater (lowest numbered ticket holders first).
