Parade Route Restrictions


According to Centerville Municipal Code 11-01-140, the parade route restrictions are as follows:

The following restrictions shall apply to the use of public property and rights-of-way adjoining designated parade routes or other public events. It shall be unlawful for any person to actually claim or attempt to claim, reserve, occupy or otherwise control public property either in person or by the placement of any object, such as, but not limited to, ropes, chairs, blankets, banners, vehicles, or barriers of any kind, prior to 4:00 p.m. the day before the scheduled parade or public event. It shall be unlawful for any person to place, erect, use or employ any stakes, tents or enclosed shelters, including vehicles or trailers, on public property adjoining a designated parade route or other public event at any time. No person shall obstruct public sidewalks, paved portions of streets, or occupy any unsafe position or occupy a position which may cause damage to public or private property. A violation of this Section shall be deemed an infraction, punishable by fine not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00).
