Minutes of the meeting of the  Centerville City Board of Canvassers held Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 6:55 p.m. in the Centerville City Council Chambers, 250 North Main, Centerville, Utah.

CANVASS OF 2007 GENERAL ELECTION RESULTS

Marilyn Holje, City Recorder, reviewed the results of the 2007 Municipal General Election.  The election was run by the Davis County Clerk/Auditors Office as mandated by the Lieutenant Governor’s Office because of the school voucher issue.  The voter percentage was over 50 percent in Centerville, which is a record turnout for a municipal election.

Three Centerville City Council candidates who ran unopposed were elected with 3,897 votes for Ken Averett, 4062 votes for incumbent Paul Cutler and 3,849 votes for Lawrence Wright.  The Centerville Recreation, Arts and Parks (RAP) Tax was passed by a vote of 2,982 (64.63%) for and 1,628 (35.37%) opposed.  The Davis County opinion question failed in Centerville with a vote of 2,153 (45.91%) for and 2,537 (54.09%) against. The State Voucher Referendum failed in Centerville with a vote of 1,711 (38.38%) for and 2,908 (61.62%) against.

Councilman Gutke made a motion to accept the results of the canvass of the 2007 Municipal General Election.  The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Lindstrom and passed by unanimous roll-call vote (4-0).

At 7:10 p.m. the meeting was adjourned.
