Subject: City Manager’s Summary of October 6, 2009 Council Meeting

6:00 ACB/RDA Meeting – Please note that we begin at 6:00 p.m. for an ACB/RDA meeting to discuss approving an amendment to the CM/CG Agreement establishing guaranteed maximum price and other related matters.   Hogan and staff will present the details and the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) at the meeting.  Dinner will be served beginning at 5:45 p.m.  Please contact Marilyn Holje, City Recorder by Monday, October 5 if you are not going to be at the dinner.

E. Open Session – John Gally has requested time again to speak during the Open Session regarding the weed issues with the Silver Oaks Subdivision.

F.1. Minutes – The minutes to be approved are enclosed.

F.2. Summary Action Calendar
a. Centerville Creek Stream Gage Maintenance - This is an annual agreement with the U.S. Geological Survey for maintenance of the stream gage on Centerville Creek which was installed as a Project Impact activity some years ago.

b. Purchase of Police Department Vehicle – The Fiscal Year 2010 Police Department Budget provides for the purchase of a vehicle for their department.  See backup report for this item for more detail.

F.3. Emergency Management
a. Presentation by Councilman Larry Wright re: Citizen Corps – Councilman Larry Wright would like to make a presentation regarding the integration of the Neighborhood Network into the Citizen Corps Program. 
b. Briefing re: October 31 community exercise by Police Lt. Paul Child – Lieutenant Paul Child will brief the Council regarding the October 31, 2009 community exercise. 

F.3. Utah State Historic Preservation Agreement & Grant Contract – The matching grant is for the purpose of rehabilitation work to be completed on the Thomas Whitaker Historical Home/Museum to help restore the building to its original state.  The Whitaker Home/Museum is listed on the National Register of Historic of Historic Places and this restoration work would not jeopardize the register recognition. Also enclosed is a Preservation Agreement for the preservation of the Whitaker Home/Museum by the City.  

F.4. Mayor’s Report – The Mayor may report on a few matters.

F.5. City Manager’s Report – Since Steve Thacker was out of town at the time this Summary Memo was prepared, he may want to report on a few matters.

F.6. Miscellaneous Business – I am not aware of any other business to be discussed under this item.

F.7. Closed meeting – At this time I do not know of a need for a closed meeting, but the agenda allows for that possibility.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE CENTERVILLE CITY COUNCIL WILL HOLD  ITS REGULAR PUBLIC MEETING AT 7:00 P.M. ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2009 AT THE CENTERVILLE CITY COMMUNITY CENTER AND CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 250 NORTH MAIN STREET, CENTERVILLE, UTAH.  THE AGENDA IS SHOWN BELOW.

Centerville City, in compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act, provides accommodations and auxiliary communicative aids and services for all those citizens in need of assistance, including hearing devices.  Persons requesting these accommodations for City-sponsored public meetings, services, programs, or events should call Blaine Lutz, Centerville Finance Director, at 295-3477, giving at least 24 hours notice prior to the meeting.

A notebook containing supporting materials for the business agenda items is available for public inspection and review at City Hall and will be available for review at the meeting.  Upon request, a citizen may obtain (without charge) the City Manager’s memo summarizing the agenda business, or may read this memo on the City’s website: www.centervilleut.net.
