[Debris Collection] - Centerville City has suspended the collection of debris and green waste at all five (5) locations set up by the City. Residents of the City are now being directed to the following places for disposal needs:
Bountiful Landfill will accept only “green waste” from residents with a charge of $3.00 per load. No “trash or other debris” will be accepted by the Bountiful Landfill.
Davis County Landfill will accept “green waste” free of charge until December 17th. After this date, the County Landfill will continue to accept “green waste,” however charges will then be assessed at the standard rate.
Davis County Landfill will also accept “trash and debris,” however charges will be assessed at the standard rate.
[Tree Trunk Disposal] - Centerville City will allow residents to stage large cut tree trunk pieces (must be de-branched) for City pick-up. All pieces must be located on the City’s Park strip (most desired) or just behind the sidewalk (secondary placement). Please do not place these items in the gutters or streets. If items cannot be readily reached from the public street by City equipment, the items will be left for disposal by the resident. For City pick-up, these items must be in placed in the desired locations by December 18th. Those needing help cutting or moving these items to the desired locations ought to utilized family, friends, or professional services. Please be careful when conduct cutting and lifting activities by using safe practices.
[Handyman Services and Potential Scams] - Residents need to be aware of the Handyman requirements of the State of Utah. All persons engaged in repair activities with a contracted or agreed value of less than $1,000.00, including labor and materials and any changes (may not include plumbing, electrical, or gas or combustion appliance repairs) are exempt from state contractor licensing regulations. Handyman services may exceed this limit and perform work up to $3000.00 but, such person must file an “affirmation of exemption” verifying that the handyman has liability insurance and workers compensation. All work in excess of $3,000.00 must have a contractor’s license from the State of Utah. Any persons or business operating such services from a Centerville City address must obtain a City Business License, regardless of the proposed amount or cost of work to be performed.
[Truck Haul Routes] – All trucks and hauling equipment operating for the City have been assigned an ingress/egress route through the City. A total of six (6) routes have been established and may change as deemed necessary by the City.
