National Register

The National Register of Historic Places is the Federal Government's official list of sites that are important in American History, architecture, archeology, and engineering.  If your home is on the National Register, you may receive special consideration for zoning variances or conditional use permits, and apply for grants or tax credits for rehabilitating the property.

Local Register

Centerville City created a local register for structures having local historic significance.  Structures and sites receive consideration for zoning variances and special use permits, but do not qualify for tax credits.

To be eligible for either register, a site or structure must:

*  Be at least 50 years old.
*  Retain its integrity (that is, look about the same as when it was built).
*  Be significant architecturally or historically.
